Lost and Found

I knew that when I began this project, One Painting A Week For A Year, that both the painting and the blogging about the painting would go a bit bonkers at some point. Well, leave it up to summertime to assist in that unraveling. I think that it started slowly with the beach vacation at the very end of June. There is still a painting in waiting at the studio that I Resist “finishing.” It started as an abstract beach scene, and it fell apart from there… too much thinking about it. So, it’s resting on a sofa in my studio, and from time to time I consider it, but not yet enough to strike. Then, somewhere along the way, I think I missed titling/numbering the canvases… then, another painting put up a great fight and may need reworking… then, I started a five foot by five foot canvas in the new series, and that muse stole my heart. So, I come to you tonight to begin picking up the pieces so that I can finish this project with some semblance of style or grace. There have been some pieces that stand out lately… the second on this post is one of those. If time and circumstance ever allow, I will execute some of these at a much larger scale. For now, I keep with what I’m doing, and that is plenty. Thanks for following along with this; I hope you enjoy it.
