Hockney Moment

I confess that I don’t look at much contemporary art… I don’t follow along and have particular favorites, etc. It’s just a natural inclination of mine to not delve too deep into all of that. Sure, I “miss a lot” of wonderful art being created, but, that’s the nature of life… we can’t do it all. David Hockney is one of the artists that I would like to know better. There’s pattern and color and composition with a special magic.

We took the kids to my sister-in-laws pool yesterday, and the scene that composed itself in front of me had the magic… So, as we do with our phone/cameras, I documented it. Then, I immediately thought of Hockney. That is the power of art, when a visual in real time actually reminds you of a painting/painter. Congrats to David Hockney for penetrating the Matrix.
