Crescent Moon

Toward the end of the production run of the Haiku Paintings last year, I scaled up to create a couple of larger works. I wasn’t sure how well the minimalist aesthetic was going to hold up, but I think at 48″x36″ it still contains the right ratio of energy, movement, and solidity. All of the Haiku Paintings referenced Nature, and this one was a nice surprise when I realized it was a crescent moon. We’re often not conscious of how much we need Nature to heal our selves… specifically depression and anxiety, two of the great epidemics of our time; free medicine.
